ilson, was born April 16, 1919, at Wood, S.D. Mildred died Sunday, Sept
ember 23, 2012, at Heritage of Bel-Air in Norfolk, NE.
Mildred attended and graduated from Witten High School in Witten, South D
akota, with the class of 1937. On November 12, 1939, she was married to H
erman Johnson at Winner, South Dakota. The couple was blessed with five c
hildren: Monte, Monica, Mickey, Murray, and Mark. During her lifetime, M
ildred lived several places, including Witten and Winner in South Dakot
a, and Lincoln and Norfolk, in Nebraska. She worked as a courthouse cle
k, an office manager, and was a devoted homemaker, but her greatest ro
le was as beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Mildred was a member o
f St. John's Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
Mildred is survived by: children, Monte (Mary) Johnson of Milligan, Neb
aska, Monica (Vance) Zuerlein of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mickey (Nancy) Joh
son of Ashland, Nebraska, Murray (Vi) Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska, an
d Mark (Deb) Johnson of Norfolk, Nebraska; sister, Jackie DeVries of Si
oux Falls, South Dakota; brother, Lester (Elaine) Wilson of Aberdeen, S
outh Dakota; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by: husband, Herman Johnson, in 2005; gra
dson, Jeff; parents; three sisters; and five brothers.
Interment was in The Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk, NE.
