FRANCESVILLE - Carol L. Howat, 82, 101 Constitution Dr., Francesville, d
ied at 8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 25, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home, Fra
cesville.
She was born April 5, 1924 in Tremont, IL, the daughter of Samuel F. an
d Anna L. Swing Getz. She married W. Fred Howat on Dec. 25, 1940, in Fr
ancesville. He died Sept. 12, 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca (Allen) Berger of New Sharon, ME; t
wo sons, Dennis (Sharon) Howat of Bedford and Terry (Alice) Howat of Ke
wanna; a brother, Donald Getz of Shaumber, IL; nine grandchildren and s
even great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mrs. Howat was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Francesvil
le. She was the former manager of the Winamac Bureau of Motor Vehicles B
anch in Winamac. Carol was active in the Democratic party in Pulaski C
ounty for many years.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. CDT, Friday, Sept. 29, at Querry-Ulbri
cht Funeral Home, Francesville and one hour prior to services at the ch
urch on Saturday. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. CDT, at the A
postolic Christian Church, Francesville. Ministers of the church will o
fficiate. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
Memorial donations may be given to Parkview Haven Retirement Home. Mess
