  Notes	ROLAND R. MEISS LACROSSE, IN Roland R. Meiss, 85, of LaCrosse, passed a way Saturday, September 25, 2010 at home with his family. He was born J anuary 1, 1925 in Kouts the son of Ezra and Anna (Steiglitz) Meiss, and g aduated from LaCrosse High School in 1942. He began his career as a me at cutter at Sheely's Grocery in LaCrosse, prior to serving in the Tran sportation Office at Midwest Steel for 25 years, where he retired in 19 90. Roland was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Valparaiso . His passion for gardening gave him much pleasure and was a benefit to a ll those around him. On February 22, 1953 in LaCrosse he married Joseph ine Marti, who survives along with their son, Dale and Sherry Meiss of L aCrosse; grandchildren: Anthony and Stacia Meiss; brothers and sisters: L avern Meiss of Lacrosse, Hazel Tesmer of Valparaiso, Wilma Bruder of La Crosse and Willis Meiss of South Bend. He was preceded in death by his p arents; brother, Ralph Meiss and sister, Vera Berkshire. A funeral serv ice will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Apostolic Christian Churc h, 105 S. State Road #49, Valparaiso, with burial to follow in LaCrosse a t the Apostolic Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00-8:00 PM d irectly at the church.
