Hello cousin Megan!
Here are my lines from Samuel Hubbard:
Bethiah-Judith Clarke-Bethiah Maxon (married cousin Joseph Maxon)-Judit
h Maxon-Joanna Davis
Ruth-Tacy Burdick-Joseph Maxon (married cousin Bethiah Maxon)-Judith Ma
xon-Joanna Davis
Joanna Davis married James Isaiah Smith a United Empire Loyalist. They h
ad James Smith who married Elizabeth Bull. I'm descended from 2 of thei
children:
1.Richard Smith-James Smith- Phoebe Sophia Smith (married James Henry B
eyea)-William Henry Beyea-Ewilda Elizabeth Beyea-John Marshall Fisher-S
arah Elizabeth Fisher
2.Mary Smith-John B.Beyea-James Henry Beyea (married Phoebe Sophia Beye
a)-William Henry Beyea-Ewilda Elizabeth Beyea-John Marshall Fisher-Sara
h Elizabeth Fisher
Also here is the story of Rev. John Maxon's (husband to Judith Clarke) f
ather and grandfather. His father was John Maxon (married to Mary Moshe
) and his grandfather was Richard Maxon (married to a Rebecca ?).
Richard Maxon, a blacksmith, came to Boston on ship "Griffin" with reli
gious dissenter Anne Hutchinson in 1634. On June 25th 1642 he sold his p
operty (1 house 5 & 3/4 acres of land) to William Roulston but left, f
ollowing Anne Hutchinson to Long Isl., before receiving payment. Wife r
eceived payment, after he died, on 20 May 1644. He died in 1643 during t
he Pequot Wars. After attack on town (Pelham Bay L.I.?), Richard and hi
s family escaped by boat but Richard & Richard Jr. went back for suppli
es & were killed. Rebecca (preg.) and her dau. Rebecca made it back to R
hode Isl. in the small boat. Soon after a son John was born.
John was made a freeman in Westerly R.I. on October 29th, 1668. He was D
eputy to General Assembly in 1670, 1686, 1690, 1705. In 1678 he was Ove
seer of the Poor. On September 20th 1708 he was ordained to office of e
lder (pastor) of church in Westerly RI (now called First Hopkinson Seve
th Day Baptist Church of Ashway RI). He was married to Mary Mosher, da
ughter of Nicholas Mosher and Lydia Maxon. Nicholas owned almost 1/5th o
f Westerly Rhode Island at the time and he was also an ensign in King P
hilip's War.
If you need any birthdates or deathdates of those people just let me kn
ow.
Smiles,
Sarah

Let's see--mine is Samuel- Judith-Elizabeth-Thomas-Nathan-Joseph-Cornel
ius-John-Lucinda-Carl-Blanche-Theodore-Megan. The other line is Samuel
-Ruth-Deborah-John-Tacy-Nathan (the same Nathan above), etc.
I don't think I do know the story you mean--do tell! I have some info a
bout his religious beliefs, etc., in his notes at http://alabama.shnw.n
et/~spuddled/getperson.php?personID=I06711&tree=main but nothing else!
We have done pilgrimages to Westerly, Rhode Island, and to Shrewsbury, N
ew Jersey, in search of the Davises and Maxsons and Crandalls. My next g
oal is to visit Salem, West Virginia. Good stuff!!

Also, do you know the story of John's father (his birth) & his grandpar
ents... very fascinating.

I am also descended through Bethiah and Ruth! (Ruth's daughter Deborah w
ho married Joseph Crandall, and Bethiah's daughter Judith who married J
ohn Maxson). That is so crazy! I would love to have you help me fill i
the rest of your line (and I'd be happy to share what I have if you'd l
ike) when you have a chance. How great to be able to work on a genealo
gical project together!

Megan! We're related!... that is just the coolest thing ever! No wonder w
e connected so well!
I'm actually descended through 2 of Samuel's daughters: Bethiah & Ruth.
..
Bethiah married Joseph Clarke= Judith Clarke
Ruth married Robert Burdick= Tacy Burdick
...both lead down to my great6 grandmother Joanna Davis who was an Unit
ed Empire Loyalist. I've been to her grave site... one of the prettiest c
emeteries in New Brunswick.
As soon as i get some significant internet time i will hop over to your s
ite for a thorough checkout!
Take care, "cousin!"
