In 1959, they changed the Fourth of July celebration in Sibley by bring
ing the fireworks display that they had been showing at their rural hom
e into town because there was such a crowd. This became an area event t
hat continues to this day (managed by a committee) with food and, often
, games with prizes for the children.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Sibley.
